The time difference

Lessons are set around your day.

The teacher works from India, so Canada is many hours behind. That does not limit when lessons happen. We arrange a time around your family: before school, after school, in the evening, or at the weekend.

If you are not sure what will work, tell us your routine in the trial class and we will suggest a weekly time.

Exams in Canada

Many Canadian families already know the Royal Conservatory of Music grades. Our exam preparation is for Trinity College London and ABRSM, which are separate graded systems with their own syllabus and exams. If your child's school or current teacher requires a particular board, tell us in the trial class and we will say honestly whether we are the right fit.

Exam entry fees are paid directly to the board and are separate from the lesson fee.

Questions

For families in Canada.

How Do Canadian Students Pay for Lessons?

Lessons are priced at 25 US dollars per session, bought as a pack of 24 or 48 sessions. Payment is arranged after your free trial class, once you decide to continue. We will walk you through the options that work from Canada at that point.

Do You Prepare Students for Royal Conservatory (RCM) Exams?

No. We prepare students for Trinity College London and ABRSM graded exams. If you specifically need Royal Conservatory exams, we are not the right school for that, and we would rather tell you now than after you have paid.

My child is in school all day. When would lessons happen?

After school, in the evening, before school or at the weekend, whichever suits your family. Tell us your routine and we arrange a weekly time around it.

Do You Teach Adults in Canada, or Only Children?

Both. We teach complete-beginner adults, adults returning to the piano after years away, and children from age 5. The trial class is the same for everyone.

What Keyboard Should We Buy in Canada?

At least 61 touch-sensitive keys, ideally 88 weighted keys. Do not buy anything before the trial class. We will give you a specific recommendation for your budget and the space you have.
